ENROLLMENT: A prospective team member will arrange to swim
for one of our coaches during a team workout. The coach will then
assign the swimmer to one of our groups according to age and
ability. Registration needs to be completed within seven days from
the first day in the water. Parent volunteers are available to
assist in registration at the pool.
Swimmers who have
never participated on a U.S. Swimming registered team will be
required to show a birth certificate of passport as proof of age in
order to register. All swimmers must register with Southern
California Swimming. This body provides insurance coverage for TSM
swimmers and coaches. Membership is also mandatory in order to
compete in a swim meet.
All joining
swimmers must complete and return registration forms, including
Southern California registration (with a check made out directly to
Southern California Swimming) and TSM dues payment prior to
participation. For swimmers joining after the start of the quarter,
the dues for the quarter will be pro-rated (Contact TSM
Treasurer). There is a multi-swimmer discount of $50 for each
additional family member who joins (second and third family
members).

Registration and annual renewal of Membership to Southern California
Swimming (SCS) is also required for every
swimmer. The fee is $55 per swimmer
and is renewed annually by December 31. Please see a coach
for a form. Checks are payable to SCS and mailed directly to
them.
Dues statements are emailed out on the 21st
before the beginning of September, December, March and June. Dues
become delinquent after the fifth day of these
months. A late charge of $15 will be added to your dues payment if
not received by the fifthteenth. Also, there is
a $25 fee for returned checks. If the dues of a swimmer are
still outstanding on the tenth of the billing
month, the child will not be able to participate in workouts. If
there is a reason you cannot pay your dues, please discuss the
problem with the Treasurer (Patrick
Casey). Alternative arrangements may be made in
confidence.
TSM depends on
revenues from dues to pay our coaches’ salaries, insurance,
pool rental, life guards, etc. We regret that we cannot afford for
families to become delinquent in their payments or to negotiate
fees. A swimmer who chooses not to attend workouts for a portion of
a quarter is not entitled to pro-rated fees. A swimmer who decides
to pursue another interest for the full quarter may take leave and
pay a Reinstatement
Fee of $100 for the quarter
which will hold his/her place on the team. He/she must return the
following quarter or forfeit his place on the team. Silver, Senior
Development and Senior Group swimmers participating in high school
swim team/water polo team may pay $200
of the spring quarter fees which entitles them to join TSM workouts
as a supplement to their high school practices. Must attend less
than 50% of the scheduled practices for their respective
groups. Treasurer to be notified by February 21st.
If you have any questions about any billing you
have received, please contact the Treasurer immediately
(Patrick
Casey).
